82.3 INNINGS OF GREATNESS

With baseball-reference.com having recently updated their site to include the 2004 stats, I recently stumbled across this:

2002 Gagne 82.3 IP
2003 Gagne 82.3 IP
2004 Gagne 82.3 IP

I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but what a weird coincidence.

Take those three seasons together and you've got a record that rivals Randy Johnson in '01:

Gagne: 247.0 IP, 1.79 ERA, 145 H, 58 BB, 365 K, 13 HR
Randy: 249.7 IP, 2.49 ERA, 181 H, 71 BB, 371 K, 19 HR

Obviously, it's just wild speculation to suggest Gagne could accomplish anything remotely similar as a starter, but still... that'd be quite the pitcher at the front of the Dodgers rotation.

At least baseball fans in Montreal still have something to be proud of.
