In other news, David Pinto has this to say about the A's losing the West:
The Athletics loss will bring out the Moneyball critics. Let me note that the difference in win shares between Tejada and Crosby is 12, or four wins. Four wins gives the A's the division.
As of last week, there was a 10 win shares difference between Tejada and Eric Chavez. Granted, Chavez lost some time to injury. But by my guestimation, the difference between a full season of Tejada and a full season of Chavez is still about 3 win shares, or 1 win. Did Billy pick the wrong horse?
